Question for Computer Saavy People

I have a dvd of my son's talent show. I want to post just his performance, but I haven't got a clue how to do it. Can anyone help?

My future rock star thanks you!

Hi Briana.... I have no Idea how to get it on here...but
just like copying a dvd you need to use whatever application you have on your machine and to copy a dvd....and just record his performance from there it should be a snap for a genius like you...you will be copying from the dvd to your hard drive....and and then picking the file from there...

and yes Pa... 3000 sq ft 2.5 acres and its paid for in full.... sold my house in Oregon for four times what I paid for the Pa house and I never really wanted to live in Oregon anyway....that was where my wife wanted to retire...

Jim, I'm sensing a little sarcasm in the word "genius." I can't imagine why!

What's worse, is that I still don't know what the hell you are talking about! (for the DVD, not the house in PA)

Maybe a little, but not so much.

Do you have a DVD Writer on your computer? Not sure how old your machine is but most come with DVD/CD Writer on them.

you just need to insert the disc, open the Dvd writer and you should be able to save to your hard drive, from there in the DVD writer application you should be able to Pare down to the section with your Rocker on it...surprising that your boys don't know how...

hard to explain since I don't know what you have..I tried. good luck, hope to see it soon.

Paul,

I'm confused. Do you mean you want my email address? (Sometimes I'm a little slow)!

Hi, download dvdx which is a free application that turns dvd's into .avi files. A full and simple explantation is here - http://www.wikihow.com/Rip-a-DVD-to-an-AVI-or-MPG-File-Using-DVDx

I've recently learnt how to do it in order to convert some of my favourite dvd's into .avi files to keep on my new multimedia hard drive. The quality is great, and you can upload .avi files to blogger, as long as the file size is not too big. If it is, ask me again, and I'll tell you how to make it smaller! Hope this helps.
